If Jesus (or Mohamed, Krishna, Thor, etc.) would descend out of a clear blue sky with no obvious flying apparatus, introduce himself (or herself), shake my hand and the hands of several friends (who will all recall this occurrence), and permanently move a mountain out of place, then I would have to reconsider my thoughts on the existence of a personal God. That seems like a perfectly reasonable level of proof for such an extraordinary claim. Until evidence of that magnitude arises, I’ll assume one of three things is true: either a personal God doesn’t exist, God doesn’t really care whether or not I believe in his existence, or God does care but expects me to be irrational.
