Heh, you know. Maybe neo-social-Lamarckism will be the next big “spiritual” movement? At least it’s a step in the right direction. Could bring the idea of directed human progress back into vogue. But please, please, please don’t let a fascist movement get hold of this idea.

It certainly gives people an incentive to get off their ass and do something with themselves. Genes never were destiny, but this naive understanding seems widespread and defeating.

Yes, and this widespread mis-understanding becomes a strawman for the religious and the free-will crowd to attack Darwinism as false.
