Womanizer

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that I like Womanizer by Britney Spears even if it’s overproduced. (You can tell how closely I follow pop music by the fact that today is the first time I heard this song.)

    My wife is a loyal Britney Spears fan, and as a result, my three-year old son knows all of the words to this song (it all balances out, since due to my own listening habits, our son also knows all of the words to Iron Maiden’s “Number of the Beast” and not a few songs by AC/DC and Black Sabbath).

    I bought tickets to the upcoming Britney Spears concert for my wife’s birthday. I will be attending with her.

    To be honest, I haven’t been all that impressed with her most recent two albums. I kind of think she peaked musically/artistically with In The Zone.

    I don’t know where Womanizer should be ranked in her oeuvre, but I liked this one more than the handful of others that I listened to on YouTube. Then again, pop isn’t generally my genre so I’m pretty ignorant.
